Our Story

The Lowveld Soap Company is a family-owned and operated business. Our soap is made with passion and love and each bar is handcrafted from start to finish.

To ensure the best quality soap, we adhere to the following:
During manufacture the cold process method is used;
All soaps are made using only vegetable oils, no animal fats (only our goat’s milk bars contain ethically sourced animal products);
Although fragrance oils are sometimes used, pure essential oils are preferred – as the cost of some pure essential oils make their addition to our soaps unfeasible. Rose essential oil, for instance, is an extremely expensive essential oil and therefore not a viable option as an additive to our rose soaps – we opt for rosewater and fragrance.
With the addition of forests products we ensure to use only products that are sourced ethically.

Denise

Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.’

After spending my entire working life in the IT industry, I am now lucky enough to be doing something I truly enjoy. Although the change was not by choice, it afforded me the opportunity to follow my dream. I am reminded every day that my dream has now become a reality and I am blessed to have the wonderful support of loyal clients, family and friends.

I am passionate about making soap and I love the challenge of coming up with ideas specific to my clients’ needs. Once my creative juices start flowing there is no stopping me. Soap scent, size and wrapping are customized to every request, and I use only the finest ingredients available. I love to use locally sourced ingredients and accessories wherever possible.
